Chuck Andary
Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority
Chuck is the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Legal Officer at the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, the Crown Corporation overseeing the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of the $6.4 billion Gordie Howe International Bridge Project. In his role, and in addition to managing all legal affairs, Chuck oversees and directs finance, capital delivery, operations, stakeholder and public relations, and government affairs teams.
Chuck regularly briefs senior government officials in both Canada and Michigan and, under the oversight of WDBA’s Board of Directors, sets the overall strategic direction of the organization and is accountable for its results. Chuck’s leadership is particularly important with the overarching geopolitical circumstances, with the project being featured in international media and politics. In addition to this, Chuck is responsible for leading WDBA’s transition from a capital delivery to an operating entity with significant restructuring at a time of immense change and internationally-scrutinized deadlines.
Chuck has also taught construction law at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law for several years, and has served on the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction and Infrastructure and Canadian Corporate Counsel executive. Chuck is also a featured speaker at multiple prominent infrastructure conferences.
