Curt Howard is a senior technology law executive with over 20 years of experience leading high-performing legal teams and navigating the intersection of the law and innovation. He currently serves as Legal Director at Google Canada, where he built and leads the national legal team to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on a broad range of issues, including commercial, regulatory, litigation and policy matters.

Prior to his tenure at Google, Curt was Senior Counsel and Director at CDW Canada, where he oversaw legal support for Canadian operations and supported international expansion into EMEA markets. He also served as Commercial Counsel at Research In Motion (BlackBerry), designing global regulatory compliance strategies and leading legal workstreams for corporate social responsibility.

Curt began his career in private practice at leading law firms, including Linklaters in London, UK, and McCarthy Tétrault in Toronto. During this time, he advised regulators and policymakers in over 20 countries on market reform and universal access initiatives, and helped close M&A, outsourcing and licensing transactions exceeding $100B.

Curt holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of British Columbia and a B.A. (Honours) in Political Studies from Queen’s University.
