Hina Latif is Vice-President, General Counsel and Secretary at Mercedes-Benz Canada, leading the Legal team with an extreme-ownership mindset to deliver practical legal and business advice, compliance guidance, and risk mitigation. Known for approachability and partnership, she advises executive leadership in Canada and globally, helping teams navigate evolving regulatory requirements and shape legal strategy across the organization. Her portfolio includes AML, privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, and employment matters.
Deeply committed to advancing culture, Hina founded and co-chairs Mercedes-Benz Canada’s DEI Council, focused on empowerment through education via initiatives such as a Diversity Book Club, inclusion dialogues, and year-round communications. She also co-founded the National GC Network and, as its President, has expanded membership, sponsorship, and partnerships while delivering programming aligned to its vision of changing the face and future of law. Passionate about developing future talent, she mentors students and aspiring lawyers, supports MAX (Muslims Achieving Excellence), and serves as an Executive-in-Residence for Rotman leadership programs. Her recognitions include the 2025 CBA In-House Lawyers/Mondaq In-House Legal Leader of the Year Award, Legal 500 GC Powerlist Canada, Top 25 Most Influential Lawyer (2024), and Automotive News Canada’s Notable Champion of Diversity (2023). She is qualified in Ontario and the UK.
