John Naccarato is Vice President, Strategy and Chief Legal Officer at Algoma Steel, where he is responsible for helping shape and execute the company’s strategic direction, growth initiatives, and market development activities. In 2023, he also served as Head of Operations, reflecting a cross-functional approach that spans strategy, operations, commercial development, and legal leadership.

Mr. Naccarato holds a Materials Engineering degree from Western University and a law degree from University of Windsor with a focus on intellectual property and corporate international law. He graduated summa cum laude and was twice awarded the Governor General’s Academic Medal.

With more than 30 years of experience in the steel and engineering sectors, he has led initiatives spanning market and product development, facility expansions, mergers and acquisitions, strategic growth, and business development. He has also founded entrepreneurial ventures and previously held commercial and legal leadership roles with Dofasco Inc. and Bracknell Corporation.

He is known for taking on whatever responsibilities are necessary within his capabilities to advance the long-term value and success of the company.
