Lyle served initially as Senior Vice President, Legal & General Counsel and then as Senior Vice President, Legal & Corporate Development at MEG Energy from January 2020 to November 2025 where he had oversight of legal and regulatory matters and corporate development and strategic planning activities.

Prior to joining MEG, Lyle was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Mancal Group in Calgary where he handled major commercial transactions in a broad range of industries and advised boards of directors and trustees in a variety of different contexts within the Mancal Group. Previous experience also includes his tenure with McCarthy Tétrault LLP as Partner.

Lyle practiced general corporate and commercial law and securities law specializing in complex major transactions, including project development, public and private financings, acquisitions and divestitures, and private equity.

Lyle graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law in 1993 as the Gold Medalist and is a member of the Bar Association of Saskatchewan and the Bar Association of Alberta. Lyle is also a Certified Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) and holds an Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D designation.
