Omar is Assistant General Counsel, Litigation & Regulatory at BDO Canada LLP, a national professional services firm. Omar and his team manage BDO’s portfolio of litigation and regulatory enforcement matters across the country, advise BDO’s executive/senior leadership teams and client service partners on client disputes, and conduct internal investigations. In addition, they work closely with the firm’s business units to develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal and regulatory risk for the firm.

Prior to joining BDO, Omar worked in private practice in Toronto at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and in New York at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, where he advised corporations and their executives and directors on civil litigation, regulatory enforcement, government and internal investigations and white-collar criminal defence. Omar also previously served as a law clerk for Judge Joseph A. Greenaway, Jr. at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
