Stephanie Provato serves as Senior Director of Business and Legal Affairs, and Board of Directors Secretary, for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). As TIFF's senior legal authority, Stephanie oversees all legal, governance, risk, and contractual matters to uphold and advance TIFF’s mission to transform the way people see the world, through film.

As trusted advisor to TIFF’s CEO and senior leadership, Stephanie provides strategic legal and corporate guidance, ensures compliance with frameworks, and supports complex efforts. She has been instrumental in major initiatives, including as a foundational leader in launching ‘TIFF: The Market’, building its legal framework and deal architecture, leading stakeholder negotiations, and coordinating execution for its inaugural year.

Stephanie has practiced entertainment law both in-house and in private practice, including at leading law firms and production companies, advising on industry matters and acclaimed productions.

Stephanie’s trajectory is marked by recognition as a legal expert, academic contributor, and community leader. She appeared before the House of Commons during the statutory review of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), where she provided recommendations and amendments for legislative reform.

Stephanie is recognized as a thought leader in entertainment law through her speaking engagements and contributions to the legal field and entertainment industry.
